About Us
Labour Research & Development Institute (LRDI) is a research and advocacy organization dedicated to promoting decent work, labour rights, and social justice for workers in Pakistan. The institute focuses on evidence-based research, policy development, and capacity building to strengthen the voice of workers, especially those in vulnerable and informal sectors.
LRDI works to highlight key labour issues such as forced and bonded labour, domestic work, migrant workers’ rights, occupational safety, and social protection. Through field research, surveys, and stakeholder engagement, the institute supports informed dialogue between workers, trade unions, civil society, and policymakers.
A core mission of LRDI is to empower workers and their organizations by providing training, technical support, and awareness programs that help build strong and unified labour movements. The institute also contributes to national and international reporting on labour conditions to ensure that workers’ realities are accurately represented in policy spaces.
LRDI envisions a society where every worker enjoys dignity, fair wages, safe working conditions, and fundamental rights at work, in line with international labour standards.
